The Highlands

Our tour guide proudly showing off his kilt. Several of us took a tour up north to the Scottish Highlands. When the day was over we were discussing what we liked best. It was rather unanimous that the natural beauty of the area is what we enjoyed. And our guide made the trip fun and educational. Touristy yes but that was ok. We are in Scotland after all! We saw bens(mts), glens(valleys), lochs(lakes), castles, and harrrry coos (Highland hairy cows)(and roll those rrrrss). I hope you get a sense of the beauty through a few photos from the day. A caste that was situated in a beautiful spot. All the ones we saw today were. A lovely Scottish village... Fields of wild foxglove! Walking to Kilchurn Castle... One of the beautiful views from up in the castle... Stopped in a quaint coastal town for some delicious Fish 'n Chips... Rugged beauty... A field of Heather... Off to the Shetland Islands tomorrow for a week. This is what I'm waiting for! Doubt I'll blog every evening but I'll try to keep this updated. Cheers! Mary
