I watched a lamb being born and got to meet many sheep and 17 lambs. I learned wool dyeing and just enjoyed smelling the barn. Met some nice fiber people. Bought a fleece--Mary we'll talk about this! Now I wish I had a drum carder, of course. A WONDERFUL birthday weekend. Received unspun fiber from three separate friends, all of it lovely. There are not enough hours in the day.feetupandknithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17080873210290331368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8121107547215082474.post-29422184360237445512011-03-06T09:08:38.090-05:002011-03-06T09:08:38.090-05:00Love the gloves. How long until it stretches out too much? I always try to get the snuggest gauge I can while still maintaining a nice drape. <br />Socks don't need to drape; you want them knit as tightly as possible for strength. I feel like the continuum ranges from the necessarily dense sock to the exquisitely airy, drapy lace, although don't be misled by lace. Everything needs a "keeping gauge"-- a gauge at which it will keep-- keep together, keep shape, keep wearing, keep pleasing.feetupandknithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17080873210290331368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8121107547215082474.post-34687087025306001902011-03-05T23:06:50.915-05:002011-03-05T23:06:50.915-05:00I can't wait to see some pics :)I can't wait to see some pics :)Mary Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18287227769371622812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8121107547215082474.post-14144261182686495292011-03-05T23:05:18.285-05:002011-03-05T23:05:18.285-05:00Thanks!
